Kirsten,
Gemma was great and everything went smoothly all week. I will DEFINITELY contact you again when we come back up. Your babysitting service is by far the best one we've used.

All About Our Sitters

Although we refer to our child care providers as “babysitters”, that is really not the best term for them. Our Mammoth Area child care providers are dedicated and experienced professionals who enjoy interacting with kids. They will do much more than sit with your children, they will get down on the floor and play with the kids, organize arts and crafts projects, supervise and participate in games and take the kids outside for some of our wonderful fresh Mammoth air.

Our staff are individually selected for their enthusiasm, energy, creativity and compassion and are thoroughly screened to make sure your kids are safe as well as entertained. Each provider also has a minimum of three years of childcare experience and many have early childhood education backgrounds. Our wide range of babysitters means we have the perfect provider for each family, whether it is the experience necessary to care for an infant or the challenge of caring for a large group of children, we have the right person for the job.

Below are bios for many of our babysitters, and while you are welcome to request a particular provider from below, we can not guarantee their availability. We can promise however that all of our sitters are equally as qualified. We will be happy to provide more detailed information on your individual babysitter during the reservation process.

Owner, All About Kids

YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE: 12

HOBBIES: Skiing, snowboarding, golf, travel, wakeboarding, playing with my son

ABOUT ME: I started nannying in college and although I had no previous kid experience, I instantly felt comfortable around kids and knew I wanted to pursue a career in the childcare profession. After graduating from University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Human Resource Management and Tourism, I moved back to Tahoe, where I had grown up skiing with my family and began working for a local family as a full time nanny. I quickly recognized the challenge vacationing families faced in trying to find reliable care for their children and decided to start All About Kids in 2002. Many families and many years later All About Kids has expanded to three additional locations, Napa/Sonoma, Sacramento and Mammoth Lakes areas in order to better serve both California locals and visitors. I am also the proud parent of a beautiful and energetic seven year old boy and now more than ever understand what parents go through in making the decision to leave their child with a stranger. It is my promise to my clients that I would never send anyone to watch your children that I would not be thrilled to have watching my own son. It is also my goal to do everything in my power to accommodate parents and children to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your babysitting or vacation experience more enjoyable.

ABOUT ME: I am 22 years old, born and raised in Bishop, California. Attended and graduated from Santa Barbara city college in May 2012 with my A.A. and A.S., one of the classes included in my general education was early childhood education. I have about 9 years of experiencing working with children beginning when I was just 13 babysitting for family and friends. In recent years I have spent my available time with my nephews and helping take care of them, the eldest is 6 years old and the youngest just turned 1 year old this December. I just returned from working in Hawaii as a submarine tour guide, where I spent a lot of my time with kids of all ages. I sincerely enjoy spending time with kids, they are so full of life, with great imaginations. When I spend time with kids of any age they seem to always remind me how special life is and how unique we all are.

HOBBIES: Hiking, riding my bike, camping, skiing, snowboarding

ABOUT ME: I am 22 years old originally from the greater Los Angeles area, but moved to Mammoth Lakes four years ago. I am currently a ski instructor for young children and love my job. I started babysitting in high school on a regular basis and realized I wanted to pursue an education in the childcare profession so I've been attending Cerro Coso community college here in Mammoth for the past two years. I care for a 6 month old boy and I'm fully capable of watching children of any age. I'm fun loving, full of energy, but also very trustworthy and responsible. I love being around kids because they are fun, adventurous and make me laugh. I look forward to meeting your kids and making sure they have a great time!

YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE: 12

HOBBIES: Hiking, Snowboarding, Knitting, Traveling, Charcoal and Graphite drawing, Bee Keeping, Fishing

ABOUT ME: I am 25 years old and this will be my second winter in Mammoth Lakes. I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and I have a Bachelor's degree in History from Lake Superior State University. I grew up with a strong work ethic, whether it was cutting wood for the winter, tending the garden in the summer, or just getting my school work done. When I was 12 I took a Babysitting First Aide course which covered Children's CPR and other first aide emergencies. I started babysitting a few months later for a couple down the road with 3 children. And I've been doing it ever since. I have cared for children from ages 5 months to 12 years old. I enjoy teaching them skills that I know, such as cooking or different crafts or art projects. Story time is one of my favorite activities and I draw the children in by getting them to contribute ideas as I tell a story. On the flip side, I also enjoy taking the kids outside and building snow forts and exploring. Last year, while I was a Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park, I had the opportunity to interact with kids in several different ways, both in and out of the classroom.

ABOUT ME: I am 19 years old and was born and raised in Mammoth Lakes, CA. I am currently attending Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT to pursue my goal of becoming a Pediatrician. While at school I coach 4 to 6 year olds in skiing at Snowbird Resort and volunteer at Primary Children's Hospital. When not at school, I love to come home and take care of children. I am up to date with CPR and First Aid certifications and have taken classes aimed towards childcare. I began babysitting at the age of 12 after taking a CPR and babysitting class.
